VISUALFORENSIC is a French studio creating 4K CGI forensic facial reconstructions for museums and productions.
Our international clients trust our 15 years of experience in the field of forensic reconstruction and CGI techniques. We take into account the possible causes of death or pathology that could impact the facial aspect. We work from Ctscan databases, photogrammetry of the skulls or laser scan data. We are deeply engaged to respect and treat with ethics the remains of the characters we have to reconstruct.
We offer still images or animations, even complex facial rigs to create emotional eye contact with people who lived hundreds or thousands of years ago. We also deliver "Making Of" videos for museum displays. Besides our digital work, we can also offer traditional plaster casts of the reconstructed heads, because we think that blind people must have the opportunity to touch and discover those faces.
Using forensic techniques we create objective and believable faces, but as with all portraits, some subjective decisions regarding the lightning setup, facial emotions, hairdressing, clothing and camera framing have to be taken, and that’s why we work closely with the science and museography teams.
